Nikki Perren, founder of Liberty Events is only too aware of the pressures on small and large businesses alike and the knock-on effect that these demands often have on family life. Mother of two teenage children, Nikki has juggled working full time alongside the pressures of family life full-time since graduating with a Private Diploma in Secretarial Studies & Languages from Central London Polytechnic (now the University of Westminster), in 1978. Nikki speaks French and a smattering of Spanish.
Apart from a year spent in the wine importing business at the beginning of her career, Nikki has since spent over 25 years working in various capacities within the Pharmaceutical Industry. In 1979 Nikki joined SmithKline & French (now GSK) in Welwyn Garden City as a bilingual secretary and progressed through various secretarial and administrative roles within sales and marketing, ultimately being appointed Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of SmithKline Beecham UK. During 1987 Nikki spent a challenging period as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, followed by a period as Senior Project Executive in the Marketing Department, supplying the sales force with tailored promotional items to drive their individual territory businesses.
In 1998, Nikki joined Elan Pharma Limited as Sales Services Manager, providing support to the Hospital and GP sales forces, comprising over 100 permanent and contract sales representatives. In addition to keeping the sales force equipped and mobile, the position also included responsibility for project and budget management of many large UK and overseas sales conferences, fleet management of 100 cars and management of a 150 handset mobile phone contract.
Early in 2004, Zeneus Pharma Limited took over the Elan Pharma product portfolio and many of its staff. Nikki transferred to Zeneus Pharma and was appointed to the role of Purchasing Manager. Nikki left Zeneus in January 2005 to set up Liberty Events.
During her career Nikki has attended various Management and Personal Development Courses, including 'Seven Habits of Highly Effective People', Franklin Covey - 'Situational Leadership I & II', Ken Blanchard - 'Unleash the Power Within', Anthony Robbins - 'Personal Peace & Inner Power', Brahma Kumaris - 'Educo Mind Power', Tony Quinn.
Having worked in professional environments for many years, Nikki has very wide ranging experience. Her assets are summarised as follows:
